  • Airport pickup is from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm at Missoula International Airport the day before your hunt begins

  • Departure leaves the lodge at 9 am until 11:30 am from hunting camp (please do not get flights early, it is a 2 – 2.5 hour drive to airport).

It may be a good idea to book your flight the day before pickup and get a hotel in Missoula and we will pick you up at your hotel the day before your hunt.  This ensures your gear and luggage will be here on time for your hunt if bad weather conditions occur.

We recommend the following hotel:
C’mon Inn

If you need picked up or delivered at unscheduled times, the fee of $350 will be added to your hunt, no exceptions.

If you choose to rent a vehicle, we recommended Dollar-rent-a-car at (406-542-2311)

If you are driving in, your arrival time will be no earlier than 2 pm the day before your hunt starts and your departure time shall be no later than 8 am the day after your hunt.

Granite Peak Outfitters LLC will field dress and deliver your animal to one of two reputable local meat processors. We have worked with these businesses for years and have found they always do an excellent job for our clients!  There are freezers on site to store meat and capes.

Clark Fork Custom Meats (406) 826-0169

Superior Meats (406) 822-4702

Average costs of processing your animal are(but can change year to year):

  • Elk: $250 – $350
  • Mule Deer: $50 – $70
  • Antelope: $50 – $70

* These price estimates do not include the making of jerky or sausage.

Shipping can be very expensive to ship processed meat home because it usually has to be shipped next day. Jerky and sausage is less expensive to ship because it doesn’t require to be shipped next day.  Many of our clients drive to Idaho for their hunt in order to transport the meat back home. Most of the processors we work with are very accommodating and can have the meat ready to go in 1 or 2 days.

If a client wishes, Granite Peak Outfitters LLC can deliver the antlers and cape to Alpine Artistry, the world-renowned taxidermist (406) 726-3120, and Thompson River Taxidermy

Prices for taxidermy of your Montana trophy can vary greatly depending on the type of animal and the desired mount. Feel free to contact Alpine Artistry if you have any questions for your particular hunt.

We have freezers on site if you want to take your hide’s home with you after hunt.  If driving throw a small chest freezer in your trailer or back of your pickup truck to transport meat and trophies back home.

The standard tip for a guide is 15% to 20% of the cost of your hunt.
Remember to bring tip for the cooks and packers in the camp as well.
The amount you give reflects your appreciation for your guide’s hard work and effort.

  • Remember most hunts are scheduled as 2 clients per 1 guide, unless a 1 on 1 is prior requested and approved by outfitter.
